Still Life with Flowers and a Watch by Abraham Mignon, 1640 - 1679. See how many insects you can spot in the painting. Mignon was a Dutch painter that specialized in flower bouquets. His art work is marked by his attention to detail and and delicate handling. One of his favourite techniques was to place red or white roses in the centre of the canvas and then set the whole group of flowers against a dark background.
oil on canvas. This old painting is from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The painting is in the Public Domain and is free to use with the permission of the museum. As this is an old painting there are some age marks and cracks on it.
