The original photograph was taken in BATUS a training area in Canada.The Chieftain main battle tank was used by the RAC, The Royal Armoured Corps.It was issued to the 17th/21st Lancers an elite Cavalry Regiment. In its day the Chieftain Tank was one of the most advanced tanks in the world and introduced a reclining backwards position for the driver enabling a heavily sloped hull with reduced height. The Chieftain has a crew of four.
