Artist's Description
Allegory of Spring, Georgius Jacobus Johannes van Os.
Van Os spent his career mainly in Paris, where he painted porcelain for the famous Svres factory. At the same time, he created a furore with magnificently painted floral still lifes incorporating antique art objects. This painting belongs to a series of the Four Seasons. In this painting of Spring, the flowers are arranged in a Greek vase. This old painting is from the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam. The painting is in the Public Domain and is free to use with the kind permission of the museum. As this is an old painting there are some age marks and cracks on it.
